TEACH ME TO WAR
They were Christian ministers, but when she saw her husband, Derek, lock eyes with another woman at the checkout line, Sonia felt humiliated, angry and betrayed. She didn’t want to stay with this lustful and religious man any longer.
“Get out!” She had promised herself that she’d never again say those words to her husband. After hearing these words, he boarded a bus and left with no intention of ever coming back. Sonia was devastated. She was ready to give up.
Years before, the words, “Teach me to war!” came out of Sonia’s mouth as she prayed. The Lord began to show her how to fight for her husband and marriage. His love and grace gave her strength for the battle. The Lord was not willing to let her husband go. In the midst of their battle, Sonia saw the heart of the Lord; His relentless love would pursue and call Derek back to Himself. Like the story of Hosea who went after his harlot wife, Gomer, the Lord’s heart is to have his harlot backslidden church return to Him.
RISE UP MY BELOVED
All hell was raging against my mind.
I needed some time alone with the Lord and to just be alone, away from everyone. I needed to calm myself down. The only solace I could find was in a washroom. In that little cubicle, totally at the end of myself, I surrendered to His will. Nothing else mattered at this point except what He wanted.
Knowing I was in my Heavenly Father’s hand, I cried “Lord by obedience I will go. Give me your words to say. Help me Lord!”
